NYC LCLAA Remembers Jose Peralta
It is with deep regret to learn of the loss of Senator Jose Peralta. José Rafael Peralta was an American-Dominican politician in New York City until his death yesterday. A member of the Democratic Party, he last represented District 13 in the New York State Senate, which includes the Queens neighborhoods of Corona, East Elmhurst, Elmhurst, Jackson Heights and Woodside. Over the years he co-chaired the Somos el Future Labor Breakfast with NYC LCLAA, and he will always be remembered for all he has done in support of the union movement and working families. Before serving in the Senate, Jose Peralta, a Queens College graduate, was a state assemblyman, having first been elected in 2002. He leaves behind a wife, Evelyn, and two sons. NYC LCLAA sends its heartfelt condolences to the Peralta family. Our deepest sympathies,New York City Chapter of the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement.
President Sandy Rivera conveys, on behalf of the NY Chapter of NACOPRW, our sincere condolences to his family. He was a dedicated servant of our community. We offer our prayers in this difficult time and resolve to continue the effort in strengthening and expanding our means of serving the community. This page with Mr. Peralta's image, and President Eduardo Rosario's statement will continue to be the lead of this page dedicated to LCLAA as one means of demonstrating our commiseration and companionship with them.
President Sandra Rivera.
